planting plans

We believe everyone should be able to create an ecological garden. That’s why we’ve created adaptable planting plan templates designed by a professional landscape designer. Each plan features native, pollinator-friendly plants, suitable for hardiness zones 7b - 5a, arranged in proven combinations that attract birds and butterflies while ensuring a stunning display. Simply select your site’s light conditions—sun, part sun, or shade—and you’ll receive a clear, easy-to-follow design template, complete with plant species and quantities, layout, and a detailed guide covering site preparation, planting steps, and ecological benefits. Soil type and moisture levels are also important in plant selection, but we’ve kept things simple for accessibility. If your garden has very wet conditions or acidic soil (such as under pine trees), we encourage you to reach out for a custom plan. Affordable and flexible, these plans can be tailored to fit your garden, helping you create a thriving, sustainable landscape with confidence.

Learn about our APPROACH

  • Our approach is inspired by natural meadow ecosystems, with native grasses forming the foundation of the planting matrix. These grasses provide structure, movement, and habitat for birds and pollinators. Bright wildflowers are woven throughout, adding seasonal color and attracting butterflies and bees that thrive in sunny conditions.

  • Here we look to the open woodland edge, where light filters through trees and a wide variety of plants can flourish. Airy grasses keep the planting light and dynamic, while evergreens and ferns add year-round texture. Colorful wildflowers complete the mix, echoing the diversity found in natural woodland openings.

  • Shade gardens draw from the forest floor—cool, layered, and full of quiet richness. Native sedges and ferns create a lush green base, while woodland flowers punctuate the planting with subtle color and seasonal interest. We select companion plants that naturally grow together, complementing one another in a balanced, symbiotic way.
